WHY it is not working + a RETREAT....!!!!

BABY BOO BABE (psssst.... BIG announcement in the PS!).

I used to binge Stephen Covey CDs in my twenties commuting up and down the 405 and back and forth on the 10 in LA. (totally aging myself, but I am good with it ;)!)

One of the best things he taught me sitting in bumper to bumper traffic was... how to prioritize and how to spend your time on the things that are important but NOT urgent.

Like weight loss. Weight loss and the things you have to do to lose weight for the last time are important but not urgent.

(yes, I know weight loss can also feel urgent - kinda like desperate-y and like omg we have to do it NOW but when we are in the day to day of weight loss, THOSE weight loss activities, like journaling and applying The Yummy Mummy Method do NOT feel urgent).

And if you are a normal human it is really HARD to do the things that are important but not urgent.

It is way easier to do the things that are urgent AND important. It is EVEN way easier to do the things that are urgent and not important. The kicker? It is also super dang easy to do things that are not urgent and not important.

If you want to lose weight you have to make it your priority, like as in your number freakitty freak one priority.

Most of us can get on board with this. We agree. We're like yeah, makes sense.

But then: ENTER, real life. It is like the whole weight loss thing just kinda slips away, other things get more important, oh that goal, what goal? (this is the sneaky quiet quit of weight loss) LIFE HAPPENS, and I get it.

But this is the key to achieving any goal. You have to hang out in that upper right hand corner MOST of the time.

You have to say NO to the things that present as MORE urgent than your weight loss activities, like furnishing your home, or shopping for the upcoming trip or responding to an email or text (yes, even from your boss), or going to the grocery store, or getting your nails done, or cleaning your house, or scrolling, or showering.

You have to be willing to say NO.

To your brain and to other people if you want to lose weight for the last time.

This has to be number one. By the by--- I am not saying you can't do the other things. (you can most likely have BOTH)

I am just saying that in the moment, when it is time to journal for 10 minutes or scroll, you choose journaling.

I am saying that when it is time to place your instacart order but then your boss pings you, you choose icart.

Or when you are planning to listen the yummy mummy podcast that you just know holds the secret to your weight loss and your bff asks you to go for a walk, you choose the podcast.

Schedule your weight loss activities and then follow through like your life depends on it. Because it actually does.

Believe that these weight loss activities are urgent. Because they actually are.

Be relentless with your one priority.

Decide what it is and don't let yourself forget it!
