Time + Kind
I just got off a zoom call with a client.
Today was the day.
After years and years of struggling with her weight and her body she hit her goal!!!
She knows in her bones that she has changed the relationship with herself and that this new mindset and body she has created is permanent.
You can even tell by talking to her that this is forever.
She is steady, calm and confident in her achieving.
She believes and embodies this achievement.
There is no desperation or out of control-ness or what if it goes away mentality.
I asked her what she thought it was that got her here. Why did it really work this time?
She simply said, “Just time and being kind to myself”.
Ahhhh. Time and kindness.
Two things that (traditionally) never go with weight loss or really any goal.
So many of us are conditioned from such a young age that we need to achieve and FAST and if we don’t achieve FAST then we are taught to beat ourselves up. To not be KIND to ourselves.
As if hurrying and beating ourselves up will get us to the goal.
It doesn’t.
If that worked we would all be skinny and rich and famous.
So this year let’s try taking our time and being nice to ourselves.
It works.
