Priorities

My hubs and I celebrated our 14 year wedding anniversary yesterday! WOOP! WOOP! WOOP!

We have such a fun, loving, dare I say EASY relationship. (most of the time)

I also have such a fun, loving, easy relationship with my body and food. (most of the time)

Why?

Because of:

1. Commitment

2. Being a scientist (I know - not very romantic!) in the way we approach finding out what works best so that we can feel how we want to feel. We test and retest!

3. Never, ever quitting

I am committed to my relationship with "Babe" and to putting it at the top of the list. This means on anniversaries we do an epic hike and a date night. This also means that we go on a 1:1 date night every. single. week. It also means that when we fight we never let it go longer than an hour without a solution. This is what we have tested and now know, works, so that we both can feel how we want to feel.

This commitment also means that I don't divorce him or quit when we make mistakes or fight. We keep getting back up and learning and growing from our mistakes.

I am committed to my relationship with mySelf (food and body) and to putting ME at the top of the list. This means I journal everyday. It means that I almost always eat what fuels me and feels good in my body and leave the rest. This also means that I move by body daily and take it for massages monthly. It also means that when I make a mistake I don't quit or throw in the towel and eat all the things. This is what I have tested and now know, works, so that I can feel how I want to feel.

This commitment also means that I don't divorce myself AKA quit on my above commitment when I make one little or big mistake.

Sometimes (like yesterday with the hike -shhhh don't tell BABE) I DO NOT FEEL LIKE DOING THE THING. Like for example, I did not want to go hiking. Like, sometimes, I don't feel like saying no to the cupcake. Sometimes, I just do not feeling like writing in my journal.

Not feeling like doing IT is a dream stealer. You will make a commitment and then you won't feel like it. But then you follow through and THAT feeling is so much better than the tiny relief of following through on not feeling like it.

So what must we say to our brains when they say I don't feel like it: "OH WELL. TOO B FOR YOU TOOTS!"

This is process and PRACTICE is available to you too!! You are probably already practicing it!

What is the thing that you are so committed to and because of it you feel so damn proud? And because you have committed to it for so long it now feels easy and fun?!?!

You can apply this same commitment to your health.

Isn't it wild - you would never divorce your partner just because of one fight?!!? Why would you do that to yourself as you learn to love yourself and heal your relationship with food and your body?

At one time these relationships WERE VERY HARD for me. If you want to make something easy you must go into THE HARD.
