The holidays are a time meant to be enjoyed with family, yet we dread them. WHY?

It’s because of this concept I call The Holiday Handbook. Most of us have inherited this handbook of expectations and rules telling us how to behave around the holidays.

Buying all the gifts for the in-laws, inviting both families to Christmas Eve even though they don’t get along, researching and perfecting recipes, Elf On The Shelf, making the cutest crafts, sending out Christmas cards, hosting the big cookie exchange for the 27th year in a row…
