Your Body is Not an Acceptable Receptacle
“I don’t want to waste it.”
It sounds legit.
So then you eat the rest of your burrito bowl when you are full, or you drink the beer you poured that you don’t like, or you pick at the rest of your daughter's pasta just cause. Am I right? You don’t want to waste it.
We’re so programmed to think that throwing away our food is wasteful.
But isn’t it wasteful to eat it when we don’t need it?
Like why are our bodies acceptable receptacles? (try saying that out loud 5x fast! ha!)
Interesting to think about.
We can see so clearly why thinking this way causes such a big problem. In our weight, in the way we feel, in our relationship with our body and in the example we set for our kids.
The solution? Stop thinking this way. Seriously. You can just decide now that you no longer believe this.
And instead believe and know that it is more wasteful to eat when you are not hungry than it is to save it for later or compost it.
You can make a deal with yourself or the people that you eat with.
You can write it down everyday.
You can have a symbol on your table as a reminder.
That you no longer eat things because you “don’t want to waste them”.
The more you believe that NOT eating the food is NOT a waste, the more you will eat food for fuel and not because of a lie you are telling yourself and the more you will move towards your natural weight with ease.
