an embarrassing confession...
Hey Cute Sweeties,
I have a confession. Like a real one I am kind of embarrassed to admit....
I am not that good at sharing.
If you’re my friend you know you aren’t gonna get a bite of my special grilled cheese sandwich ;) and you’re not gonna be the first to wear the dress that still has the tags on it.
I will give you a sip of my wine, but I won’t want to.
It really hasn’t been that big of a problem.
Until now.
You guys.
My 3 year old son SUCKS at sharing.
I get that this is a part of being a 3 year old.
But I started to wonder, am I passing down my bad-at-sharing habits?
I read the parenting books, listen to the podcasts, say the “right” things to teach my kiddos how and why to share.
But here is the thing. If I am not good at sharing, he is not going to be good at sharing.
Even if I say all the right things. Even if I watch my behavior around him super closely.
He will probably still suck at sharing.
So I am changing this.
I am becoming the best sharer ever.
So that maybe, he can be the best sharer ever.
Because that feels so much better.
It is way more fun for both he and I to be good at sharing.
I am on purpose passing down the good-at-sharing legacy.
AND I am passing down the healthy, awesome, fun relationship with food and my body legacy to both my kids.
The only way to pass down what we want to pass down is to BE that.
We can’t just give it lip service.
These babes are smart. They are onto us.
It is monkey see, monkey do. Even when you think they can’t see you, they see you.
What do you want to pass down to your kids? How can we BE that now?
