It’s Party Time! + The Birthday Queen’s 40 Hottest Weight Loss Tips

To celebrate the end of the 4 weeks 'til my 40th challenge, I am sharing my 40 hottest health tips from my 40 years (40!! OMG).

Although we’re marking the end of the challenge, this is just the beginning of you losing weight for the last time. That’s why I have compiled the absolute best pieces of advice to help you on your journey to your dream-come-true weight!

Don’t forget to make a note of your favorite tip, aka the one that gives you the real AHA moment that will transform your life.

Are you ready boo?! Let’s go!

In no particular order…

1. Practice gratitude.

Find one thing you’re grateful for every day and let it fill you up. When you feel better, you do better. When you feel abundant, and when you feel grateful, it’s easier to show up and create the results you want in your life.

2. Don't bring snacks to the airport.

If you pack snacks, you’re just going to eat them when you’re not hungry.

3. Go the f*ck to sleep.

4. Don’t quit, no matter what.

That includes when you're not perfect in honoring your plan!

5. Never ever, ever, ever say “it’s not working”.

It is. It can't not work when you apply the Yummy Mummy method.

6. Don’t eliminate stress

(I mean obviously if you can, then do!) But what we really need to focus on is how to eliminate the negative thoughts about stress.

7. Match your priorities to your problems.

If you consider your weight to be a problem, then make it a priority!

8. Know your “why”.

Don't let the cupcake be more powerful than your why!

9. Let people think what they want to think.

You can't control them. And don’t ever eat to please someone else because you end up displeased.

10. Weigh yourself every day.

It’s not the scale that's the problem, it's the thoughts about ourselves that's the problem.

11. Don’t quit.

Getting déjà vu? Good. Don't freaking quit!

12. Every moment is a Monday morning moment.

Stop waiting for Monday morning. Stop waiting for after the vacation. Stop waiting for this perceived time. Guess f*cking what?! It’s never gonna come!

13. Don’t be drastic.

Honoring your plan/protocol/Yummy Mummy map for a day or two after you’ve been a bit “off plan”, will give you the relief that you think a juice cleanse will (without the negative effects).

14. The fastest way to lose weight for the last time is to let it be “slow”.

We have been conditioned to think we need to lose at least 2 pounds per week and anything under that is bananas. So not true!

15. Journal every single day.

This is like your inner accountability bestie!

16. No sugar, no flour most of the time.

You don’t have to do this if you want to lose weight for the last time but it becomes the most effortless way to lose weight. This is not about calories in calories out, it’s about balancing your hunger hormones!

17. It's 98/2, not 80/20.

You’ve got to eat on plan 98% of the time. This isn't about being perfect, it's about being precise. It’s about eating in a way that is so nourishing you will not want to go off plan.

18. There is no end.

Diets always tell us there is an end. Nope. This is forever. And people that do the Yummy Mummy work end up having the best lives ever.

19. You are not a special unicorn.

You’re not broken, just keep going!

20. Take a freaking second to look at what’s working and what's not working on a day to day basis (without beating yourself up).

When we put our heads in the sand and we don't find out what happened, then we miss a huge opportunity.

21. Feel how you think your future self feels now.

If your future self has lost weight for the last time, how does she feel? Confident? Alive? How can you feel that now? That is your fuel forward.

22. Look f*cking hot now!

Go buy two dresses you like and rock that sh*t! Don’t wait!

23. Talk nicely to yourself in the mirror.

Filter your self talk through the thinking about the way you would talk to your daughter or your younger self.

24. Stop f*cking eating when you’re satisfied.

Don’t get to the point when you’re full. You want to be able to do your life. Eat to satiation.

25 . Over celebrate when you get a win.

Bask in that sh*t! Don't just get straight on to the next thing.

26. Practice ‘almost instant gratification’

That’s the feeling of pride you get after you've said ‘no thank you’ to the cupcake. You don't have to wait a few months or a year to feel gratified!

27. Restriction is a good thing. Deprivation is not.

Healthy restriction (stopping when satiated) is healthy. Over restriction (deprivation) is not healthy.

28. Weight loss is a skill

That means you have to learn it, practice it, and get back up when you fall.

29. This is a practice, not a perfect.

In our culture, we’re taught to be given a diet plan, and to follow it perfectly. Then when we don't, we throw in the towel. You have to learn as you go.

30. Slow the f*ck down!

Rushing woman's syndrome is a real thing. Take a deep breath. Train your body and hormones that you have plenty of time. This is not about racing to get to a destination.

31. Stop identifying as your past self.

You are who you identify as, so start identifying with your future self.

32. You probably are an emotional eater.

Emotional eating is when you eat and it’s not for physical hunger. It’s not a bad thing. It is great for bringing us awareness of our feelings (see next tip).

33. Feelings are not problems.

They are just vibrations in your body. We don't have to solve for them or get rid of them. When you name how you're feeling instead of trying to get rid of it, you hold space for that feeling and don’t need to solve it by eating something.

34. The solution to your problem is not in the pantry or the fridge.

35. Create pleasure in other ways.

Stop focusing on the false pleasure you get from food and see how you can get true pleasure to fill your cup. That could be walking, having a nice bath, or getting a pedicure!

36. Stop fighting with the cupcake. Be cool with the cupcake.

37. Have some f*cking fun.

If we’re gonna do this, why can't we have fun doing it?! That's what makes it sustainable, that's what makes it permanent.

38. It's always two steps forward, one step back.

Weight loss journeys are not linear.

39. Let weight loss be your one f*cking goal.

40. Don’t quit.

Pinky promise me right now to just NEVER QUIT!
